Fresh Ideas for Your Home

Make a Statement with Color.
With a little creativity, it’s easy to add color to your home.
If you want to liven up your home with a bit more color, there are simple ways you can do this without spending a lot of time and effort. Here are just a few ways to make your home more colorful:
Recover or paint a piece of furniture. A colorful slipcover on your sofa or fresh coat of paint on your cabinets can really brighten up your space.
Add surprise accents. Want only a hint of color? Paint just the inside of your bookshelves, cabinets or dresser drawers.
Accessorize with color. One of the easiest ways to add a splash of color is with colorful throw blankets or pillows.
Display colorful kitchenware. Browse through your kitchen cabinets and look for colorful plates, bowls or other ceramics to display.
Fill your home with flowers or plants. Whether it’s a few colorful flowers picked from your garden or a lavish arrangement, fresh blooms have the added benefit of a beautiful scent.
Hang artwork on your walls. Colorful paintings, photos or prints not only add texture and dimension to a space, they’re a great way to show off your personal taste.
Buy colorful stationery. Stationery, note pads and sticky notes in bright colors like blue and yellow will perk up your office.
Paint your front door. Wow your guests immediately by painting the first thing they see when they enter your home.
Remember that color sets the mood of a room. So, think about how you use the space. For instance, you might want to stick to soft, calming shades in bedrooms and brighter colors in spaces like family rooms and kitchens.
